According to Variety, James D'Arcy has been cast in Marvel's Agent Carter TV series, which stars Hayley Atwell. D'arcy will reportedly play Howard Stark's butler, who is an ally to Agent Carter. While Variety doesn't specifically name D'arcy's character as Jarvis, Agent Carter's executive producers Steve McFeely and Christopher Markus confirmed to Comicbook.com during Comic-Con that Howard Stark's butler Jarvis would be on the series.

"We're going to have Jarvis, the original Jarvis," says McFeeley, "who is Howard Stark's butler, who is then going to be an important part of the show, and then go on to become whatever he is to Tony Stark, and that's an important part of the show."

"The weird continuity is sometimes sort of mindblowing," says Markus. "So that guy is sort of the inspiration for the computer that Tony Stark made, that will later do…it's all very interconnecting through no fault of our own."

Marvel's Agent Carter follows the story of Peggy Carter. It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life--Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," along with the short "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter."

D'Arcy most recently appeared in the movie Let's Be Cops and the TV series Those Who Kill.

Marvel's Agent Carter is scheduled to premiere in January 2015 on ABC.
