Alamo Drafthouse, the independent theater chain who continued preselling tickets to The Interview after all five major exhibitors abandoned the film, has learned that Sony will not provide the files to screen the movie to the public and will instead play a free screening of 2004's Team America: World Police on Saturday night, December 27.

One of the film's main characters is an unkind parody of Kim Jong-il, the late father of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, whose fictional assassination is key to the plot of The Interview.

You can check out one of the more infamous Kim Jong-il scenes below.

At present, Sony has shelved all plans to release The Interview in any form.

Whether or not that will change once the chaos of the past few weeks has passed is unclear.
