The absurd antics that The Simpsons have committed over the past twenty years could, at best, be chalked up as cartoon fantasy. But that's not stopping Mythbusters from confirming the plausibility of Springfield's seemingly unrealistic feats.

In the upcoming season premiere of Mythbusters, series hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman will test the Simpson's greatest stunts from the past 26 seasons. In the upcoming episode, Adam and Jamie will see if dropping a cherry bomb in one school toilet could make all of the others erupt, as Bart Simpson pulled off, and if human shield, like Homer Simpson, could really save a building from a 500 lb. wrecking ball.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Savage admitted that it was a challenge finding a Simpsons myth that might exist in the realm of possibility.

"Several people were like, 'This is a cartoon! What can you do with this?' Savage said. "We looked through many, many different stories and many different bits of The Simpsons, but I think that we found stuff that really is entertaining and not totally outside the realm of physics—unlike, say, Wile E Coyote stuff might be."

Check out a preview of the episode in the video below, where the Mythbusters team actually make a Homer Simpson crash-test dummy for the wrecking ball test.

Mythbusters' season premiere airs on January 10th at 9:00 p.m. on The Discovery Channel.
