Alexandria Shipp probably received the role of several lifetimes when it was announced last week that the actress will portray Storm in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse.
With that opportunity also comes an unenviable Herculean task. Not only has the young actress been selected to portray one of comic book's most iconic superheroes, but she's also assuming a role that was previously portrayed by Academy Award winning actress, Halle Berry.
Much like the Windrider, Shipp is stepping up to the challenge at hand. How does one prepare for a role in a comic book film? By reading comic books of course. On social media Shipp announced that she's doing her homework on Ororo Munroe and has been reading the Storm ongoing series written by Greg Pak.
