Back when we spoke with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn in December, he said that there was a major Easter egg nobody had pointed out yet.

EDIT: James Gunn has clarified on Twitter that this was not meant to be Longshot.

Original story continues below.

We had our guesses at the time, but they haven't been echoed since, and so speculation continues...and now Imgur user FusRoDuuh (via Moviepilot) points out that there's what could potentially be a Marvel Easter Egg nobody had yet mentioned in The Collector's lair.

Frankly it seems like a heck of a reach, but there's speculation that this character poster featuring Benicio del Toro's The Collector could suggest that Longshot is captive in his collection.

The humanoid, three-fingered figure struck a user and their stepfather as unusual -- in comics, unlike in comic strips and cartoons, hands are after all usually depicted with all four fingers rather than just three -- and that led to speculation that it could be Longshot, who is both humanoid and has the three-fingered hands.

That said, the Moviepilot story reminds readers that it's likely Longshot's rights are with Fox and the other X-Men characters, so it's unlikely Marvel would knowingly allow James Gunn to plant such an Easter egg. More than that, it could be contended that merely missing a finger isn't enough to make a determination in a movie where there are plenty of people who just kinda...look like people except one little detail in their face, skin color or whatever being different.

That said...interesting.
