Paramount Pictures has released their official Super Bowl trailer for Terminator: Genisys, which gives viewers the latest detail-packed look at the iconic robot action-thriller. Even with its short run-time, the trailer packed enough tantalizing content to make the wait between now and the film's summer release all the more painful.
Below, we run through the trailer's biggest and best moments, of which there were plenty. Indeed we'll definitely be back when Genisys hits the big screen.
1) Young Arnold Schwarzenegger
The trailer made us love the eighties all over again with a de-aged version of Arnold Schwarzenegger in his digitally-edited prime. Of course, young Arnold's inclusion raises as many questions as it does thrills. How will he fit in with the older, grayer Arnold who's headlining the film? Is he a relic of the original franchise's Terminators, or sent from another future?
2) The New-And-Improved Terminator Cop
In another nostalgic throwback, the Super Bowl trailer teased a glimpse of a new Terminator sporting some policeman's blues—and juggling metal blades sprung from his hands. The Terminator Cop from Terminator: Judgement Day's got nothing on this new-and-improved human hunter. But we do have to ask: Why are Terminator's so obsessed with looking like cops? Fire fighters are cool, too, you know.
3) Flame Resistant Terminators
Speaking of fires...On top of Young Arnold, Old Arnold, and the blade juggling Terminator, we also got a glimpse of another insanely powered Terminator, who can trek through a spewing ball of flame and walk away untarnished. This could be the same Terminator model in the police uniform, but—what if he's something even more powerful? The idea of a robot rumble between several different Terminator models practically makes us drool motor oil.
4) Hard-Core Connor
The new Sarah Connor that Kyle Reese finds in the past comes packed with more grit, gristle, and chips on her shoulder. Or didn't you notice Connor brandishing a massive automatic weapon, flipping school a school buses, and saving Kyle Reese's butt from a swan dive off of the Golden Gate Bridge? Connor was hardly the helpless victim the original Terminator franchise, but this version looks like she'll run circles around her predecessor.
5) "I'll Be Back."
Honestly, how could the trailer not include one of the most recognizable lines in Hollywood history? And to have it come from Arnold himself—struggling through his vowels and all—was the excellent bit of fan service to get even the most casual Terminator fans giddy.
