Universal Pictures just released its official Super Bowl trailer to Jurassic World, giving viewers an action-filled look at Chris Pratt, Indominus Rex, and the rest of the prehistoric park.
With a ton of great moment's revealed during tonight's trailer, narrowing down the five best moments was no easy task. But, after a detailed look, we present the best moments that highlighted Jurassic World's Super Bowl showstopper.
1) Another Look At Indominus Rex
Jurassic World's headlining dinosaur is still shrouded in mystery, but tonight's trailer gave us a few more breadcrumbs to follow. With a look at the genetically-enhanced dinosaur's eyes, feet, and more, we're starting to get a clear sense of his physical stature—which, to describe in a word, is fierce.
2) "It's Killing For Sport"
On top of a few visual glimpses of Indominus, the trailer also revealed that Indominus will actually be evil. While all of the past predatory dinosaurs in Jurassic Park have killed for sustenance, Indominus will separate himself as a sadistic murderer. That's going to create a some pretty grim stakes for Chris Pratt and the park's inhabitants, showing that this latest trip into Jurassic Park will be the most dangerous yet.
3) Chris Pratt Teaming Up With Raptors
Now there's a first. In order to best an opponent as fierce as Indominus, Chris Pratt turns to an unlikely—but totally awesome—source of help: Raptors. While the Jurassic Park franchise has always been about Man vs. Dinosaur, it's refreshing to see mix things up with man AND dinosaur. With a pack of raptors as Pratt's sidekicks, it almost seems certain that Jurassic World will also have tons of dinosaur-against-dinosaur action. While seeing humans desperately try to flee dinosaurs and fight back with technology is cool and all, we're thrilled at the thought of a prehistoric smackdown.
4) The Horror!
Not to be sadists (Indominus has that covered), but the trailer's screech-filled moments almost put a smile on our faces. Not because we're evil, but because we now know that Jurassic World won't forget its roots in suspense and horror. While Jurassic World needs to wow its audiences with breath-taking visuals and large action sets, it also needs to scare the pants off of them with a good old fashioned dinosaur hunt. Thankfully, the trailer assured us that the film will have both fronts covered.
5) Terror In The Skies
We slated raptors, T-Rexs, and Indominus as problem dinosaurs for Jurassic World's unlucky visitors, but seeing pterodactyls join in on the slaughter was a surprise. What could drive the usually-neutral species into a human killing spree? Perhaps Idominus has some sadistic effect on his prehistoric brethren that drives them to kill. Or, maybe these pterodactyls are another genetic creation gone evil. Regardless, it looks like everyone will be in danger no matter where they turn. Get scared, people.
