Eisner-winning writer Brian Michael Bendis has signed a new exclusive contract with Marvel Comics.

Bendis' voice has perhaps become the one most associated with Marvel's modern era. He began his tenure with the company in 2000, and handled some of the company's biggest franchises and characters, including AvengersGuardians of the Galaxy, Daredevil, Uncanny X-Men, All-New X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man, where he introduced one of the most popular new characters in recent memory, Miles Morales.

"There's been some speculation that I will be leaving comics because of other cool things going on in my life," Bendis says in the press release, "but I wanted to let everyone know that isn't the case. I get it, sometimes when people have something going on in other media they tend to drift away from comics. But that is the opposite of what my life's goals are.

"I want to bring people into comics so they can see the original wonderful magic we have to offer every single week," he continues. "My partnership with Marvel, since the first day they hired me, has been a continuous dream come true and I'm honored that I get to continue this partnership for many years to come."

Bendis will begin his new exclusive contract by ending the Ultimate Universe in Secret Wars: Ultimate End, and will also be writing another, still unannounced Secret Wars series.

Bendis will also continuing working on POWERS, with co-creator Michael Avon Oeming, on Marvel's ICON imprint. A new jumping on point issue, POWERS #1, just hit store shelves, and the live action television adaptation is set to become the first PlayStation Network original series when it debuts on March 10.
