Finally, Marvel has released their trailer for the upcoming Daredevil series on Netflix. With only a few set photos for sustenance until this morning, fans had little to go on in determining the series' tone, direction, and specific details.

And while the trailer filled in many of the show's gaps by showing Daredevil, The Kingpin, Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, and more in action, the teases inevitably just stoked more questions. Almost every clip was an enigma, stirring up enough speculation to leave viewers as anxious—if not more—as they were before the trailer's debut. Below, we address the biggest questions raised by Daredevil's trailer, and speculate what their possible answers might mean for the series.

Who Is That Dead Body?

The trailer kicked things off on a grim note, showing a female crouching near a very dead and a very bloody body. But who could this murder victim be, and why would they be important enough to show up in the trailer? Perhaps their murder ignites a case that will arrive at Murdock and Nelson's doorstep, (hopefully) kicking off the series' courtroom drama.

Of course, this scene comes with the follow-up question of who the killer might be. Is that Karen Page covered in blood? It looks like it, but the shot of the assailant is too unclear to properly identify.

What Is The Kingpin Staring At?

Viewers only got a small portion of Daredevil's biggest character—Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of Crime. The trailer revealed a quick shot of Daredevil's arch-nemesis staring at a wall thinking about…something. But what has Fisk so pensive, and why would he deal with it by staring at a white painting? Maybe he's just heard rumors about this so-called "Daredevil" character who's mucking up his once-seamless criminal organization, and is trying to figure out the best way to deal with him. Either way, whatever's going on inside that polished head of his can't be good.

Who Beat Up Daredevil?

He may be the Man Without Fear, but he's definitely not the man without wounds. About midway through the trailer, there's a shot of a shirtless Matt Murdock decorated in scabs and scars. This Bruce Wayne impression leaves us with two questions. First, who's tough enough in Hell's Kitchen to deliver such a whopping to the lean, mean, radar-enhanced machine that is Daredevil? And secondly, what's Charlie Cox's workout routine? Is he hitting that salmon ladder with Arrow's Stephen Amell?

What Is Stick Doing?

Stick-720x405

In the first half of the trailer, we see elevator doors close on another blind man. The elderly man is non other than Stick, Matt Murdock's sensei and trainer. We heard that actor Scott Glenn had been cast as the blind mentor, but didn't think the role would be big enough to warrant a tease on the trailer. So, how big of a role will Stick play in the series? Will he have a radar sense similar to Matt's, as he did in the comics, or will he only train Daredevil in the ways of combat? Either way, it's exciting to see Daredevil reach deep into it's comic book mythology with Stick.

What Has The Night Nurse So Upset?

Daredevil_2845 AM

The only glimpse of Rosario Dawson's Night Nurse character showed her with her back against a wall, breathing deeply. While the shot is too brief to draw many conclusions from, it looks like she's upset about something. Is she in immediate danger, or is she just disturbed by a recent event? While the Night Nurse is known for stitching up New York City's battered vigilantes, she normally doesn't get embroiled in direct conflicts herself. Perhaps Daredevil will change that by dragging her into the field when Hornhead needs her the most. Either way, it looks like this Night Nurse will play a much more active role than her comic book counterpart.
