Jon Hamm, like many of us, think it would be fun for him to play Negan on The Walking Dead. For those who don't know, Negan is the ruthless, barbaric leader of a menacing group called the Saviors in The Walking Dead comic book.

During an interview with MTV promoting the last remaining episodes of fellow AMC show, Mad Men, Hamm was asked if he would like to play Negan on The Walking Dead when it comes time for the character to be introduced. "Robert, call me. Come on," was Hamm's initial response to the question, referring to The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.

Hamm went on to say, "I've met Robert many times, he's a lovely guy. I think he's done wonders with that show and I know it's very close to him, obviously." Getting back on topic, he went on to admit, "I'm always very nervous about anything about anybody's saying 'do this or do that.' That's why I'm always in a hundred things all the time, because I always say yes."

"I don't know, we'll see. It would be fun, that's for sure," Hamm concluded. It seems like he's given the role some thought and maybe Kirkman and the other producers have, too. If his slicked back hair during the interview is any indication, Hamm definitely has the look for the role. As for the demeanor, The Town, where he plays an aggressive police officer is probably the best place to find Hamm's threatening side.

It doesn't seem like it would be tough to get Hamm to play the part. Aside from the fact that he already seems interested, his hit show Mad Men shares a network with The Walking Dead, as I mentioned earlier. Several of the people he has dealt with and relationships he has built working on Mad Men could be influential in getting Hamm to play Negan. Now it's just a question of who's going to play Lucille... Louisville Slugger or Rawling?

You can watch Hamm address whether or not he would want to play Negan on The Walking Dead in the video below.

The Walking Dead's season 5 finale airs Sunday a 9 PM ET. Mad Men's final episodes start airing next Sunday at 9 PM ET. Both shows are on AMC.
