Shrek Might Return In Puss In Boots Sequel

It's been years since audiences last saw Shrek on the big screen, but it looks like Dreamworks Animation may have one more appearance in store with with the upcoming Puss In Boots 2.

In a recent interview, Puss star Antonio Banderas slipped that Shrek might make a cameo in the sequel. "I heard rumors that Shrek may be coming back," he said.

Dreamworks touted 2010's Shrek Forever After as its final Shrek feature, and stuck to it word when the spin-off film, Puss In Boots, came out in 2011. But even if the studio goes back on its word in the next film, Banderas said that he certainly wouldn't mind.

"That would be great," Banderas told Empire Magazine."Shrek doing a cameo… in MY movie? Uh, huh! Yeah, I'd like that."

Puss in Boots 2: Nine Lives and 40 Thieves hits theaters on November 2, 2018.
