Warning: Potential spoilers in this and the in-depth analysis article.

While there weren't any other DC Comics heroes and villains beyond the title duo in the trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, that didn't mean there weren't a few winks and nods to the DC Universe -- or the outside world.

Like when Man of Steel had Lex Luthor references and name-drops to director Zack Snyder's wife, the first trailer for its follow-up had a few things that sharp-eyed fans pointed out, too.

We're sure that we've missed a couple, but for now, here are what we spotted. Let us know in the comments if we missed anything.

300 on the rocket

The film that got director Zack Snyder acknowledged as a guy who could make massive, crowd-pleasing blockbusters is one that frequently gets winks and nods in his subsequent movies. No exception here, where Superman is hoisting aloft a Russian rocket that has a "300" on it.

No surprise -- not only is this a thing that Snyder and company have done in the past, but 300 writer/artist Frank Miller served as a technical adviser on Batman V Superman and there are numerous nods to his comics classic The Dark Knight Returns buried in this trailer.

The Dark Knight Returns

Whether it's the armor, the imagery of Batman standing over the city holding a rifle or the talking heads over-analyzing superheroes, there's a lot of The Dark Knight Returns in this movie. The link above ("numerous nods") will give you more details if you want them.

Riddler question mark

One of the first things spotted by fans on social media, there's a scene in which Batman appears to be standing in the wreckage of the train station where Zod and Superman finally ended their battle in Man of Steel. There's graffiti everywhere in the disused building, and in that graffiti is where we see a few things.

The biggest one? While almost all of the spraypaint is black, there's a stylized question mark in green -- seemingly a nod to the classic Batman villain The Riddler.

The Riddler was often rumored for a role in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, although the last time he appeared in live action was when Jim Carrey depicted the character in Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever.

Currently The Riddler's alter ego, Edward Nigma, is appearing as a recurring guest character on Gotham, played by Cory Michael Smith.

Aphrodite in the graffitti

A character who appears regularliy in Wonder Woman comics (becuase of Wonder Woman's connection to Greco-Roman mythology), Aphrodite's name seemingly appears in the graffiti at the train station.

Enos in the graffiti

Also at the train station, just beneath "Joe + Kayla," there's an "Enos." That's almost certainly still photographer Clay Enos, who worked on Man of Steel and Batman V Superman.

Possible Robin Memorial

Could the cape and gloves in a glass case behind Bruce Wayne be a memorial to Robin -- either to Jason Todd, who has long been rumored to be dead in the film, or to Dick Grayson, whose gravesite may have appeared in set photos? It's hard to say...but a hard possibility to ignore.
