As fans who were lucky enough to get passes to Monday's Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice IMAX event were pleased to discover, there was a very special surprise for attendees. When attendees entered the theater, they were given a certificate that entitled them to a free ticket to a preview screening of Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice one week before the regular opening. Attendees were told to write their email address on the back of the certificate and to turn it in after the trailer screening.

At the beginning of the screening, a theater employee read an announcement thanking everyone for attending and informing everyone that they would need to put their phones away when the actual screening started.

At the beginning of the Batman V. Superman IMAX video, director Zack Snyder appeared on the screen in front of the Batmobile. Snyder introduced himself, and he thanked the audience for coming out to see the first ever teaser trailer for Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder reminded viewers that they would be seeing the trailer in glorious IMAX, and he also asked the audience to please not record it.

Then, the same Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, which was released online last week, played with an additional five or so seconds of footage at the end. We've embedded the online trailer below.

After the regular trailer, the additional five seconds started with a close up of the face of a very unhappy Superman. Then, the camera panned to an equally unhappy Batman, wearing his armor costume. Batman and Superman charged directly at one another with fists ready to fight. However, right before the two connected the screen went to black, followed by the Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice title.

After the trailer, Zack Sndyer reappeared on the screen. Snyder said before they played the trailer again, he wanted to ask viewers to keep their eyes out for the native IMAX shots. Snyder revealed that the last few shots before the title and then when they charge at each other at the end were shot all in the native IMAX. Snyder also added that viewers would see a lot of that in the actual film when it comes out next year.

Snyder told viewers to keep in mind that the one sequence where they run at each other at the very end is only going to be seen during the IMAX event. Snyder said when viewers see the trailer online on or in front of a movie, that part is going to be lopped off, because he wanted to have something special for viewers at the IMAX event.

Then, the trailer played again, and the screening ended with the bonus IMAX event footage. As attendees exited the theater, they turned in their certificates for the free advance screening and were allowed to pick up either a Batman or Superman poster.
