Avengers: Age of Ultron opened in a few international theaters yesterday, and the sequel is already pulling in impressive numbers.

Joss Whedon's Avengers follow-up opened to $2.7 million in France, $1.6 million in the Philippines, and $1.5 million in Taiwan. All together, that puts Age of Ultrons' total global box office at $9.5 million. But that number should grow rather quickly, as the sequel hits United Kingdom and Ireland today.

Once Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in United States theaters next Friday, May 1, it is expected to surpass the global box office performance of 2012's Avengers. That film made more than $1.5 billion world-wide, making it the third-highest grossing film of all-time.
