In a galaxy, not so far away, two Star Wars fan sent an X-Wing into space in the hopes of getting director J.J. Abrams and tickets to the VIP premiere of The Force Awakens.

Members of Project Helium Tears, Matt Kingsnorth and Phil St. Pier, are known for using GoPro cameras and high altitude balloons to photograph the Earth from the edge of space. For their next journey, the amateur astrophotographers attached a model of an X-Wing.
