New reports are suggesting that Marvel and Sony Studios have narrowed their list of Spider-Man film directors to six candidates.

On the short-list are Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies), Ted Melfi (St. Vincent), Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) John Fracis Daley & Jonathan M. Goldstein (Vacation reboot), and Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite). However, the report notes that this list is not all-inclusive, meaning that a few other directors could still remain in Marvel and Sony's sights.

Each director seems qualified to bring Marvel and Sony's Peter Parker, who will be a young high school student in the vein of the Silver Age Spider-Man tales, to life. The report also notes that the studios want Spider-Man to feel like a coming of age tale, set with "John Hughes humor" and the usual superhero tropes. The report suggest that a decision could be reached as early as next week, with Sony Head Tom Rothman making the final choice.

But what say you, readers? Do you think that any of these directors could craft a solid Spider-Man story? Sound off in the comments below!
