The episode opens with Sheldon and Amy making out as they celebrate their 5 year anniversary. Sheldon asks Amy whether he should watch the Flash TV show, which leads Amy to ask whether he's been thinking about her at all during their anniversary. When Sheldon doesn't answer to her liking, the two begin to fight. After Sheldon tries to explain that committing to a TV show is a major commitment, Amy points out the irony in agonizing over a show about a person who moves at superhero speed while their relationship has barely moved at all during the last five years. Sheldon, of course, doesn't see the irony, but he says that he has been working on his sarcasm detecting. Amy responds with a sarcastic comment that goes over Sheldon's head.

Meanwhile, Raj and Emily are perusing the back issues at Stuart's comic book store. After Stuart tells them that he'll be closing the store early so he can mooch some meatloaf at Howard and Bernadette's place, Emily grabs a grotesque statue of a severed head and asks if it would make for a good lamp base. Raj is creeped out by the statue, but he offers to buy the statue for Emily anyways. Stuart immediately takes the sale, and tells the couple that there's no returns when Emily tries to refuse.

Leonard and Penny return to Leonard's apartment from the farmer's market, where Leonard was bitten by a baby goat. Sheldon asks the pair for help trying to determine why Amy is mad at him. He recaps his conversation with Amy to Penny, and Penny tells him that when he's making out with a girl, the girl expects the attention to be on her. Sheldon doesn't understand the problem, so Penny asks Leonard to try to explain. Leonard correctly guesses that Sheldon is concerned about the committing to a new TV show, and points out that the 10 year run of Smallville almost killed him. When Penny learns that Sheldon ruined his anniversary with Amy, she tells Leonard that this was nearly as stupid as Leonard asking if getting bitten by a goat would give him goat powers.

Back at Howard and Bernadette's place, Raj asks if his friends think that Emily is creepy. After telling them that Emily recently wanted to have sex in a graveyard, Raj begins to wonder whether Emily is right for him. Both Bernadette and Howard mock Raj, telling him that they don't think he could actually break up with a girl. Raj points out that he's not the only one with confrontation issues, seeing as Stuart is still living in their house.

Leonard, Penny and Sheldon are eating dinner, and Sheldon is worried that he still hasn't heard from Amy. Penny points out that she thinks Amy is right about Sheldon and Amy's relationship moving too slow. Sheldon tells Penny that he could say the same thing about her relationship with Leonard, since the two of them have been engaged for a year without setting a date. Both Leonard and Penny immediately get defensive and begin stating excuses for why they haven't moved forward with getting married.

After discovering that Stuart has been eating her "special yogurt", Bernadette asks Howard if Raj is right about telling Stuart to leave their house. They agree to kick Stuart out when he returns home that night.

Leonard and Penny start fighting about why they haven't set a date for their wedding. After Penny tells Leonard that there's no reason not to start planning a wedding, they quickly hash out the basic details for the ceremony while Sheldon occasionally chimes in with suggestions. While the pair are able to figure out what type of ceremony they want, Sheldon points out that they still haven't set a date.

Later that evening, Raj is seen with Emily drinking wine in a graveyard. Emily asks if he's scared, to which Raj replies that he's not scared of ghosts, but he is scared of her (a little).

Sheldon apologizes to Leonard and Penny for upsetting them, but Leonard and Penny tell him that it's good that they're finally talking about things. Sheldon points out that they still haven't picked a date, which causes Penny to ask why everyone is so concerned when they're both clearly committed to each other. Penny spontaneously suggests to Leonard that they get married in Vegas that evening. Leonard agrees and they kiss.

As Stuart arrives home, Bernadette and Howard try to convince themselves to kick him out, but they're unnerved when he arrives home with more yogurt for Bernadette and Howard's favorite cereal. Both Bernadette and Raj simultaneously try to break up with Emily and Howard but neither can go through with it.

Leonard and Penny are driving to Vegas to get married. When Penny tells them that she's glad they waited so long to get married, so they would have no "surprises or regrets", Leonard confesses that he kissed a girl several years ago while drunk on a research ship. Penny suggests that he only told her that to sabotage the wedding, but Leonard is adamant that he only told her so they would go into married life without any secrets. Penny says that she's not happy, but she still wants to go through with the marriage.

The episode ends with Sheldon finally connecting with Amy via Skype. Amy says she wants to re-evaluate their relationship, which leaves Sheldon visibly upset. Sheldon pulls out an engagement ring from a desk drawer and asks a small Gollum figurine sitting by his computer what he should do with it.
