Costume designers Sammy Sheldon and Ivo Coveney discuss the hazards of the Ant-Man suit in the latest issue of Empire Magazine.

Don't expect to see a shrunken Paul Rudd ('Scott Lang') running around without his suit and helmet. Marvel is taking a scientific approach to his superpower. "When you shrink, the molecules in the air are too big for your lungs," Sheldon explained to Empire. "He has to be fully contained or he'd die."

Another concern for the designers were the two large cables that go into his helmet. This is where they chose to go with style over function."They're a massive weakness - Yellowjacket could just rip them off and he's dead. But, in the end, it just looks cooler with them on."

Will we see Pym Particles in the film? Empire's story never actually mentions the class of subatomic particles Hank Pym first discovered in the comics, but they due hint at them with a reference to "mysterious chemicals" being used in Lang's transformation.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
