Peter Capaldi To Make Comic-Con Debut At Doctor Who Hall H Panel

Peter Capaldi will make his San Diego Comic Con debut during the Doctor Who panel at this year's event.

Capaldi, who is the twelfth actor to play the Doctor, will be joined by Jenna Coleman (Clara), Michelle Gomez (Missy), lead writer and executive producer Stephen Moffat, and executive producer Bria Minchin for the Doctor Who panel taking place in Hall H on Thursday, July 9.

"Tales of San Diego Comic-Con are told in awe on every set around the known fantasy/sci-fi production world. It's become a fabled kingdom," Capaldi commented in the announcement. "One I am thrilled to find myself heading for. And to appear in the legendary Hall H is a further twist to the cosplay and comic madness I may never recover from."

Capaldi is currently filming the ninth season of Doctor Who, which will premiere later in 2015 with the two-part story "The Magician's Apprentice" and "The Witch's Familiar," written by Moffat, produced by Peter Bennett and directed by Hettie MacDonald (who directed the Hugo Award-winning episode "Blink"). The premiere will see the return of Capaldi as the Doctor and Coleman as his companion, Clara, but also the return of Michelle Gomez as the villainous Missy.
