Grrl Scouts Pilot Coming Tuesday: "It's 'Scott Pilgrim' Meets 'Broad City'"

Twenty years after they debuted in the comics, Jim Mahfood's Grrl Scouts are coming to live action in a new pilot from the short film spotlight Incubator.

The Grrl Scouts comic centers on a trio of pot dealers/neighborhood enforcers, and helped Mahfood shoot to prominence two decades ago. Around that time, Mahfood was also drawing a lot of attention drawing comics based on Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse characters for Oni Press.

"The twentieth anniversary is a huge deal," said Mahfood. "The characters and this universe have been with me for twenty years and the Grrl Scouts are part of this weird universe I've created, which is sort of this hyper-stylized, punk vibe.
