Disney's Inside Out Wins Friday Box Office With $34.2 Million Opening Day

Inside Out won Friday, but Jurassic World will win the weekend box office.

The latest Disney-Pixar film Inside Out took in $34.2M on Friday. That's the second-best Friday for any Pixar film, only behind Toy Story 3's $41.15M. It's now on track for an $89M to $92M debut weekend. Which would also be the second-best figure for a Pixar film, Toy Story 3's $110.3M. The film will generated good-word-of-mouth as audiences have given it an 'A' CinemaScore.

Jurassic World finished up Friday with $29M and should win the weekend with $101M to $103M. It could clear $400M domestically by the time Sunday's figures are in. That 10-day performance would make it the fastest film ever to reach that benchmark.
