Natalie Martinez Was Almost In Deadpool

You may recognize Natalie Martinez from a number of roles she has played in recent years - Under The Dome, Death Race, Secrets and Lies... The list goes on. The list almost got an awesome comic book movie addition - Deadpool.

Martinez, who is starring opposite Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, in their upcoming Focus Features film, Self/less told us she almost starred with Reynolds again next year. "I auditioned for it! I wanted Deadpool so bad!" Martinez said.

As for what stopped her from landing a role in the 20th Century Fox comic book movie, Martinez says it was probably scheduling conflicts, but if not that, it must have been "being another love interest again. We would've kind of been the Meg Ryan/Billy Crystal." In Self/less, the two play off of another in a bizarre sci-fi love mix-up which Martinez believes stood in the way of her landing the part in Deadpool.

Not only is Martinez a huge geek culture fan, telling us, "Hell yeah! I wanna play Princess Katana. Mortal Kombat," but by the sound of it, she would've loved to work with Reynolds again on set. "He was really funny and great and sweet and really nice. He was cool. He was fun to work with," Martinez said about veteran actor.
