Happy Birthday! J.K. Rowling Turns 50 Today

Today is J.K. Rowling's birthday.

J.K. Rowling is the creator of the Harry Potter franchise and author of the book series' seven installments. From Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, all of Rowling's novels were adapted in highly successful films from Warner Bros. Pictures.

Rowling's latest magical entry, a Harry Potter prequel titled Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, will soon be made into a film starring Eddie Redmayne. In addition to writing the original novel, Rowling will also write the film's screenplay. And earlier this year, Rowling revealed that she would continue Harry Potter's adventures through a play titled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
