Deadpool Trailer: Five Things To Get Pumped For
The Deadpool trailer is set to melt fandom's faces everywhere tomorrow. And though we first saw [...]
The Raunchy Humor
Ryan Reynolds is known for being a funny guy, and so is Deadpool. Comic readers are going to appreciate the shameless fourth-wall shattering more than a chimichanga full of swear words.
Deadpool definitely earns his R-rating. The banter between Reynolds and other characters, including TJ Miller's Weasel, is beyond funny. It's clear the cast was given free reign to do or say pretty much whatever came to mind, especially after hearing TJ Miller speak at Comic Con - the dude is raunchy. And let's not forget, Reynolds gets to make fun of himself for playing Green Lantern, so keep your ears open for one of the best references ever.
prevnextThe Action
The action featured in the Deadpool trailer is second to none.
What's so great about it? It's so ridiculous, fun, and unfathomable, that it molds perfectly into Deadpool's humor and general tone. It's just so pleasing. Watching Deadpool use guns and swords to mow down enemies is a feast for the eyes. It's like a ballet of chaos. An orchestra of mayhem. It's a beautiful disaster that we need more of in superhero films.
Let's continue.
prevnextNegasonic Teenage Warhead
Yes, this trailer will introduce Negasonic Teenage Warhead. And if you've never read a comic book, yes, that's really her name. Deadpool couldn't believe it either.
When the character debuts, in fact, Deadpool can't believe her name simply because it's so cool! It fits right into the aforementioned insanity and supplements the comic book fan's dream of seeing underutilized characters on the big screen. It's a moment that makes you feel like you're buried in a comic book rather than watching a movie.
prevnextColossus
There's Nothing like a slap from Colossus to start your day.
The trailer actually teases Colossus and Deadpool's interaction, and it's one of the preview's best. The entire sequence is laughable, no matter how many times you relive these best two minutes of your day. The segment is also a nice connection to the rest of Fox's X-Universe, showing that no matter how kooky Deadpool will get, he'll still exist in the same sandbox a Professor X's mutants.
prevnextUh, DEADPOOL!
The number one reason to get excited for the trailer: Deadpool!
It's a live action Deadpool. Seriously. Who would have ever thought a Deadpool movie would happen? Sure, we got Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy, but a fourth wall breaking, foul-mouthed, bloody extravaganza about the chimichanga-loving merc with the man born to play him--Ryan Reynolds--in the titular role? It's. Really. Happening.
The trailer is set to be released online tomorrow (Tuesday) and we'll have it for you right here, at ComicBook.com.
