Marvel Comics is getting a little stranger after Secret Wars, as one of the realms of Battleworld continues on with a new ongoing series. Weirdworld will continue on, with writer Sam Humphries and artist Mike Del Mundo handling the creative duties, as announced on Marvel.com.

Humphries already has his talking points promo talk down in his first interview, summing up the world that's weird in a simple few sentences.

"Weirdworld is a place where anything can happen. Weirdworld is a place inside the Marvel Universe. Weirdworld is a place where the lost can be found. But only if you are strong enough..." he said.

The location of Weirdworld, as a place, is nebulous, as well. When on the magical planet, Earth looks like a moon in the sky, but you can mostly only get there by accidentally stumbling upon a magical entry. The main character, Becca, "crashes into it," as a normal 16 year-old girl from Earth who quickly meets a wizard named Ogeode and a barbarian warrior called Goleta. This newly formed adventurers party comes up against the mystical Morgan le Fay, who Humphries promises has "quite a lot in common" with the protagonist.

For Mike Del Mundo, who continues on the series after Secret Wars, Humphries says his art is "mad" and compares him to "a monster straight from Weirdworld."

Aside from the basic teasing, Humphries did note that Black Knight and Weirdworld may share some things in common, helping to anchor it directly into the Marvel Universe early on.

Weirdworld will launch in December under the "All-New, All-Different Marvel" banner being used for the next five or six months from October on.
