When Chris Evans gets a small break from thumping bad guys in the Marvel Cinematic Universe he likes to to explore another side of himself; a softer side. That's why he chose to make his directorial debut with romantic-comedy Before We Go, which he also stars in opposite Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness).

"I'm out there throwing that shield and knocking people out at least a few times every couple of years, so when I have some down time, that's not exactly what I'm looking to keep doing," Evans told USA Today.

Perhaps, Evans wouldn't be craving love in his side-projects if Marvel Studios stopped starving Cap of love. "Captain America, this is not a guy who knows what love feels like," he explained. "He wants it, he thinks about it, he knows there's something missing, but it's not that he's ever tasted it." Sounds like Cap needs to add Forgeiner's "I Want to Know What Love Is" to his to-do list.

Maybe the super-soldier will get a taste of it in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), niece of Rogers' WWII love interest Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), is the most likely candidate to win affection.

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters May 6, 2016.
