Zack Snyder Says Batman V. Superman Won't Be Like Flavor Of The Week Ant-Man

Steven Spielberg recently stated his belief that the superhero movie would eventually go the way of Western, eventually oversaturated the box office until audiences lose interest.

Spielberg's statement got under the skin of many fans who are quite protective of their costumed heroes. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Director Zack Snyder weighed in on the issue. Saying that Spielberg is probably correct, but implying it's more of a Marvel problem than a DC problem.

"It goes to the mythological nature of the movies that we're making," he told The Daily Beast. "I feel like he's right. But I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they're Batman and Superman. They're not just, like, the flavor of the week Ant-Man—not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?"

DC's heroes are typically viewed as being more like gods than Marvel's more human heroes, but does godhood come with immunity to superhero fatigue? With more superhero movies on the calendar than any year prior, 2016 will really put that theory to the test.
