When ComicBook.com confirmed that David Ramsey's John Diggle would have some kind of mask back in May, people instantly started wondering what that would be. When it was shown off in the form of a still shot, people instantly started wondering why he stole Magneto's helmet.

Those fan criticisms have gotten back to Ramsey, who told TV Guide that he likes the helmet.

"I know there's a lot of criticism that it looks like the Magneto helmet," Ramsey said, addressing it head-on, "but by the time you see Diggle in action – we also get into what the helmet can do – you won't be thinking of the X-Men at all. There is a very cool gun too. The gun and the helmet, by the way, are S.T.A.R. Labs creations."

The second half of that is interesting, insinuating that the helmet as it's seen in a still shot might not be that indicative of what it can do in action. Being a S.T.A.R. Labs creation means this is tech, and not just a sheet of metal. It also might be a hint that his character, John Diggle, may go by the superhero name "The Guardian." In the New 52 comic books, The Guardian is an African-American hero who works for/with S.T.A.R. Labs, and the identity was already a high-odds pick amongst DC Comics fans.

Arrow Season 4 kicks off Wednesday, October 7, 2015 on The CW.
