A new survey conducted by Harris Interactive has wielded somewhat predictable results: Yes, fans are excited about Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The survey, Variety reports, was taken over a weekend in September, and had 63% of respondents expecting The Force Awakens to be the best movie of the franchise, which includes the "Original Trilogy" that ran from 1977-1983, and the "Prequel Trilogy" that ran from 1999-2005. As for why fans are excited about the movie, that varied wildly.

15% of fans surveyed say J.J. Abrams, the director and co-writer of the film, is the reason they're most excited. 36% think the special effects will make it the best Star Wars movie. Fans also cited the story, the new cast, and the idea that the film will be "more true to the Star Wars series" as reasons to be hyped.

The poll surveyed 2,031 adults in the U.S., with 801 of them self-identifying as Star Wars fans.

As for this Star Wars fan, I don't know about "best of the franchise" as Empire has a lot to live up to, but the new cast, the coherent links to the older story elements, and the tie-ins so far definitely have me excited.
