Sometimes there are rumors that are worth being skipped, and then sometimes there are reports that have substantial weight behind them. Reports abound that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will have a new trailer debuting on Monday, October 19, with most signs pointing to it airing during Monday Night Football on ESPN. In addition to others' reports, ComicBook.com's sources confirmed the timing of the debut.

ESPN, of course, is owned by Disney, the parent company of Lucasfilm, making for some nice corporate synergy. The rumor part to this story (that we haven't confirmed independently), is that the Monday Night Football broadcast will actually be themed to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That means there will be themed graphics, scores, and even, allegedly, an opening crawl.

The particular MNF broadcast happens to be a major division rivalry between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants. It's a rivalry that would make the Empire and Rebels jealous.

If recent history suggests anything, it's that we'll get a new poster, maybe a gif poster, and a 10 second announcement teaser video that leads to a 20 second teaser all leading up to the trailer release. So be on the lookout for those in the coming days.
