In a new featurette released by Disney and attached to the forthcoming home entertainment release of Ant-Man, a word is dropped...but it might not mean what you think it means.

To certain readers, Marvel's Macroverse is essentially an expansive universe that includes worlds and even universes generally not seen in the Marvel's comic book publications...and given the fact that The Flash has been accessing DC's multiverse on TV, it wouldn't be outside of the realm of possibility to use that phrase.

Instead, here, it's used in the way that Ant-Man and Micronauts comics have sometimes used it over the years: to differentiate between the world seen from a very small size and the kind of "standard-sized" world that is the audience's usual point-of-view.

You can check out a discussion of how they put that together for the film below.

Also included in the home entertainment release will be a featurette looking at the way this largely stand-alone film interacted with the established worlds of the Avengers' movies.

"They wanted a way to introduce Ant-Man into the Avengers world, because eventually, hopefully, in the comic book he becomes an Avenger," said Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon in the film. "I come and help that storyline out."

You can see that video below.

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduces the newest member of the Avengers: Marvel's Ant-Man. Armed with the amazing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang joins forces with his new mentor Dr. Hank Pym to protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from ruthless villains! With humanity's fate in the balance, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a daring heist against insurmountable odds.

Ant-Man is available digitally on November 17 and on Blu-ray and DVD on December 8.
