The 1988 supernatural comedy, Beetlejuice, almost starred Alyssa Milano (Charmed, Who's The Boss?) as Lydia Deetz, the gloomy, black-clad teenager Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands) ended up playing.

"It was between the two of us, and she actually got the part," Milano send during an appearance on HuffPost Live on Wednesday. "You always wonder what would have happened differently in my life had that worked out, not that I would want it to be any different, but it's just an interesting thought game."

If she did get the part, she would probably fielding lots of questions about a potential Beetlejuice 2, which is something Ryder confirmed is in the works.

To this day, Milano isn't sure why director Tim Burton chose Ryder over her. "I was so little," she reflected. "You just hear, 'Oh, you didn't get it. Someone else got it' -- which was hard."

Beetlejuice (1988) - A couple of nice homebody ghosts, trying to rid their house of a family of trendsetting human beings, is hell-bent on making their home unlivable -- even for the dead.
