HBO Near Deal For Seasons 7 & 8 Of Game of Thrones

Earlier today, HBO announced when Season 6 of Game of Thrones will make its debut this year, and later this evening an executive for the cable network let it be known that HBO is close to officially announcing an order for 2 more seasons of the highly-acclaimed fantasy series based on George R.R. Martin's books.

"HBO programming president Michael Lombardo told a handful of reporters Thursday at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour that the premium cable network is near a deal for another two-season renewal," reports THR.

For whatever reason, HBO enjoys ordering seasons of Game of Thrones in pairs. In 2014, they announced a renewal of a fifth and sixth season at the same time, too. That's mighty fine with us!

The sixth season of Game of Thrones will premiere Sunday, April 24 on HBO.
