McG Reportedly In Talks To Direct Masters Of The Universe

Masters of the Universe

McG is reportedly in talks with Sony Pictures and Escape Artists to direct Masters of the Universe, a new film adaptation of the 1980s Mattel toy line.

The film will focus on the conflict between the hero He-Man, secretly Prince Adam of Eternia, and the villain Skeletor.

The fantasy toy line was popularized by an accompanying cartoon. Masters of the Universe was first adapted to film in 1987, with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.

McG's credits include a previous Sony reboot, Chalie's Angels. The latest version of the Masters of the Universe script comes from the team of Alex Litvak and Mike Finch.

This could be huge if they think the same scale as LOTRS!

Well there goes my hope for the film. It could have been a great movie series too, but I guess Sony could have found a worse director and that being Josh Trank. So there is that.
