Mass Effect Andromeda

While shying away from announcing an official release date, Electronic Arts has narrowed the release window for three of their most anticipated upcoming releases: Mass Effect: Andromeda, Titanfall 2, and the next Battlefield.

All three games are planned for released during the second half of fiscal year 2017, meaning somewhere between October 2016 and March 2017.

"You should assume that a Battlefield will come typically in the third quarter, when we normally have it," CFO Blake Jorgensen said in an earnings call. "We're not yet announcing when Titanfall or Mass Effect Andromeda will come, but you should assume that's in the back half of the year as well because the second quarter [July-September] is so dominated by our sports titles."

EA has quite the upcoming slate of games. In addition to new Mass Effect, Titanfall, and Battlefield games, the company is also planning the release of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, in addition to its usual crop of major sports releases. Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Old Republic has shown signs of new life with the launch of the episodic digital expansion Knights of the Fallen Empire, and reached its highest subscriber count in three years - since about the time the game adopted a free-to-play model, - following the first chapter's release (though there was no mention of how long the game maintained that number of subscribers).

EA's latest big release was another Star Wars title, Star Wars: Battlefront, which has proven popular with fans, and even tied into Star Wars: The Force Awakens with the Battle of Jakku DLC.
