The world of The Walking Dead is about to get a whole lot bigger.

Last week's introduction of Tom Payne's Jesus was only the beginning of an imminent expansion to The Walking Dead's cast and locations. As the show continues, the group will be heading to the Hilltop community.

So, what's at the Hilltop?

In the comics, the Hilltop is another community, much like Alexandria. It is fortified with walls, has defined leadership, and is working to survive. The Hilltop, however, has already established a trading pattern with other communities. That doesn't mean they aren't struggling for certain supplies.

The Hilltop's crown jewel is the Barrington house where their leader, Gregory, resides. Other new characters met at the Hilltop, though never quite main players, include Kal, Eduardo, Wesley, and Ethan.

When Rick and the group arrive at the Hilltop in the comics, they find a group which is surviving but also being terrorized and forced into giving up half of their supplies to a group called the Saviors. When they hear this group is led by a man named Negan, Rick's group offers to kill Negan in exchange for half of the Hilltop's supplies. The Hilltop's egotistical leader, Gregory, agrees to the deal.

The bottom line here, though, is that the Hilltop is another Safe-Zone like Alexandria and a community with which our survivors become very familiar.
