Once Upon a Time Gets Season 6 Renewal Ahead of 100th Episode

ABC's fantasy and fairy tale mash-up show, Once Upon a Time has been picked up for a sixth season, showrunner and co-creator Adam Horowitz announced Thursday afternoon.

The pick-up comes just ahead of the 100th episode, which airs this coming Sunday as the mid-season debut. It's considered an early renewal, and a sign of faith in the series.
The show has averaged a 1.57 rating in the 18-49 demographic category, giving it the lead over any non-Shonda Rhimes run dramas on the network.
Once Upon a Time takes characters from all over fantasy history, naturally focusing primarily on those that Disney has made use of in feature films. That means characters like Snow White can interact directly with Mulan, Merida, and many more.
ABC also gave early pick-ups to Fresh Off the Boat and Quantico for the 2016-2017 season.
Once Upon a Time airs Sunday nights at 8pm on ABC.
