The Walking Dead: Will They Find Carol?

In tonight's episode of The Walking Dead, the group at Alexandria is alerted to Carol's disappearance. It gets added to the long list of existing issues to deal with in the apocalypse but it takes priority.

The big question is: will they find Carol?

In the comics, Carol Pelettier committed suicide a long time ago. It seems like the show is completing her arc with this current series of events. At the same time. the show likes to play with our expectations based on our knowledge of the comics. All of the factors were in place to have Abraham killed just like he was in the comics but Denise ultimately claimed his death for herself.

First of all, where is Carol? She left Alexandria and headed east. It's why the fifteenth episode of the season has the title. But where is she?

Chances are - she's going to run into more and more Saviors. The Saviors seem to be everywhere except Alexandria (for now). Is she going to run into Negan? Is she going to be taken hostage? It's anybody's guess right now.

Even if an Alexandrian were to find her, what would happen? She left them for a reason so simply asking her to come back probably wouldn't be enough. She made the bold decision to leave and despite feeling weak inside of the Alexandria walls, Carol has become a very strong woman. If she believes she can't stay in the Safe-Zone, she'll take some extreme convincing to be brought back.

The only people who come to mind capable of offering that convincing and reinstatement of faith are Father Gabriel and Morgan. Let's be honest, it's not going to be Father Gabriel. Hopefully, Morgan ends up crossing paths with Carol and the already existing connection between the two of them helps him bring her back to reality. Based on his stare at her bench at the end of last week's episode, he's probably already thinking up way to bring her back to The Walking Dead family.
