The current Teen Titans find themselves in the middle of a conflict of identity. Wonder Girl, Cassie Sandsmark, is attempting to sort out her complicated lineage, and to get the bottom of who she really is in the process. Not an easy task, especially for a demigod. She's learned a lot working with the Titans, but it would've benefited her greatly if someone had taught her how to be less gullible.

Good lord. Cassie will believe just about anything, and even when this Cassandra person is displaying overt villainous tendencies (like randomly laughing HA HA! like an old 1960's Dick Tracy villain), she still just keeps following her lead. The fact that all the other Titans see it and she doesn't just makes it worse. She even has an inordinate amount of time to ponder what's going on due to Bunker's oh so useful abilities, basically allowing her to go through the entire story of her life.

I did appreciate how Greg Pak intertwined Diana's and Cassandra's telling of the same story, and honestly, the best parts of the issue involve Wonder Woman. Red Robin's blushing awe of her is charming, and she's also the star of Ian Churchill's best art. I typically enjoy his pencils, but there was more average here than great. The man can draw fantastic giant snakes, though. Just saying.

I still don't trust Cassandra, and I feel like if there is a turn for her character later on it will surprise no one. Maybe I'm wrong, though, so we'll just have to wait and see. The biggest thing that needs to come out of the next issue (or issues) is a reclaiming of Wonder Girl's personality. One can be trusting, but right now Cassie is just coming off as overly naive without any sort of common sense. Hopefully, that changes soon.
