It might be awhile before we get another Pacific Rim, but thanks to Vimeo user Jeremie Carreon we can see what the gigantic mech series would look like as an animated cartoon.

The premise lends itself to animation so well that this really should happen at some point. While we wait you can see the title sequence recreated by Carreon, complete with credits and a throwdown between Gipsy Danger and the Kaiju. The soundtrack and the look in general was done as an homage to one of Carreon's favorite shows Voltes V.

He created the animation using Photoshop and After Effects, and the music is directly from Voltes V. You can see some of his other work on his Vimeo page.
