The world of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter is truly a magical place and one that fans love to return to time and time again.
That is partially why Bloomsbury and Scholastics illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone met with such success, the other being artist Jim Kay's whimsical interpretation of Harry's world. Now we have our first look (via BuzzFeed) of the next entry in the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Kay's cover for the book is lovely, but it's in his recreation of the phoenix that really pleasures the eye. So many small details in the feathers, with layers of beautiful oranges, reds, and yellows intermingling throughout the tail. Beautiful work indeed, and you can read the whole thing when launches worldwide on October 4th.
