Civil War Reactions

Early screeners of Marvel's big summer tentpole Captain America: Civil War are making their voices heard on social media. Now that a day has passed there is starting to be a consensus as to what the best parts are, where it struggled, and how it compares to DC's big blockbuster Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Here are the five biggest takeaways so far.

1. Spider-Man done the Marvel way is the right way.

If there is a positive word in the English language, it's been used either before or after the words Spider-Man on Twitter. For fans, this seems to be the take on the iconic character, and an immense amount of praise has also been applied to Tom Holland for his take on both Spidey and Peter Parker.

2. The Black Panther has arrived.

As much of a splash as Spidey made, Black Panther was equally just as well received. People complimented the regalness that actor Chadwick Boseman brought to the role, and his combat scenes were just a good. Marvel seems to have succeeded in paving the way for his upcoming solo movie.

3. Marvel's just fun.

Some tried to avoid the direct comparisons to DC's movie behemoth, but it was unlikely to last long. The general feeling is that Marvel is able to deal with heavy and complex topics without losing their lighthearted touch. Characters like Spider-Man and Ant-Man bring levity to the film, and while the movie centers around a clash of ideals, Marvel didn't forget to include the fun.

4. The Airport action scene is fantastic

Many fans have seen the clash at the airport in the trailers, but many on social media have warned that it is only a very small piece in the overall sequence and that it blows almost anything in Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron out of the water, which is saying something since those were spread out amongst entire cities.

5. There are probably too many heroes for one movie.

While there are some negatives to the film out there, they're very few and far between. The one that seems to gather the most momentum though is that the sheer number of heroes involved in the conflict is almost overwhelming.

Mostly positive at the end of the day, and if you're like me all this talk has just made you want to see it more.

Captain America:Civil War releases on May 6th.
