Warning! Spoilers from Sunday's season two premiere of Fear the Walking Dead follow.

In Sunday's return of Fear the Walking Dead, our group of west coast survivors set sail on the Abigail in an effort to escape the apocalypse. So far, so good, but threats are inbound as they cruise south towards San Diego.

Whether or not San Diego will offer the refuge Strand is seeking is to be seen.

Over the weekend, ComicBook.com had a chance to catch up with several cast members from Fear the Walking Dead to gather their perspective of what's in San Diego.

Here's what Alycia Debnam-Carey, Fear's Alicia, has to say about San Diego:

I guess right now they're hoping for refuge and sanctuary, and that maybe San Diego's been untouched by this deadly virus, or situation that's happening. I think they're not prepared for the possibility that maybe everywhere is effected, and that they're suddenly thrust into a world where there is no rules and no plan. Yeah, San Diego offers hope, but I don't know that they'll get it.

I think hope is a strong focus for all of them. Hope that this hasn't consumed everywhere. That this is a temporary thing. That civilization is rebuilding itself as they speak, and hopefully San Diego offers that for them, but at this very moment I think it's trying to keep everyone together and preserve what they have. It's a very funny thing to also be with her brother again, who he's constantly disappearing or was disappearing in her life. To suddenly have him back and be almost well-adjusted to this new world, that's unsettling, but it's also kind of a concept at the same time. It's like they're finally back in it together even it took an apocalypse to do that.

And Lorenzo James Henrie, who plays Chris:

I think the audience should be prepared for the unknown. Don't be surprised if thing that are crazy happen. Things are going to happen that are unexpected. They're obviously looking for refuge. They're looking for safety. They're looking for protection. But also, Travis and Madison, they're very skeptical. They still really don't even trust Strand or know who he is. Even Salazar. They just ... Travis, Madison, and Salazar just sort of met. Everyone is looking out for each other in that family. You get the sense of blood versus bond theme throughout season two, looking for refuge.

Mercedes Mason, who plays Ophelia Salazar:

So, we're still at a very early on. We're Rick, in theory, still in a coma. So, those guys in the Walking Dead, they know the world's completely fallen apart, and there's no hope. We are still clinging onto "Is there hope in San Diego? Is it more of a local thing that we just happened to experience?" We have no idea what's going on because we're so cut off. I think we're still holding onto any semblance of hope at this point. As for the audience, knows a lot more than we do. They know that San Diego's not going to be a safe harbor by any means. So, we're going to definitely have to discover that as we get there.

Colman Domingo, Fear's mysterious Victor Strand:

We're definitely on the Abigail for a while. We may make a few stops. Once again, we are trying to discover a whole new world. And we don't even know what they, you know, it's these people who are like, I guess, you know, for a lack of a better term, they are sort of shipwrecked in the world. You know, you don't know where to- What is the new north? There is no true north anymore. So, they're just doing what they can to survive. So that will take us on the boat, that will take us to the mountains, that will take us on land, that will take us, you never know, they may take us on a plane, but they are going to do what they can to survive, to try to find a new world.

Fear the Walking Dead currently films in Mexico, so we can only assume that San Diego won't be the final destination for our group. That said, production location doesn't necessarily mean it will be the show's setting. The Walking Dead is set in Alexandria, Virginia, while it still films in Georgia. We'll have to wait and see where our Fear group ends up!

Fear the Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
