Suicide Squad Trailer #3: Top Five Moments
Suicide Squad - Official Trailer #3 [HD] by comicbookdotcomWarner Bros. debuted a new Suicide [...]
A Not So Subtle Superman II Reference
"What if Superman decided to fly down, rip off the roof of the White House, and grab the President right out of the Oval Office?" The opening line of the trailer doesn't just tie into one of the major themes of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, it also seems to be a reference to Richard Donner's Superman II, when Zod, Ursa and Non trash the White House and make the president kneel before the Kryptonian general. It's nice to know that the American government doesn't want to see a repeat of that movie, and decide that creating the Suicide Squad is the best way to stop it.
prevnext"I'm Known to Be Quite Vexing"
As with the previous trailers, it looks like Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is going to be the star of Harley Quinn. As Rick Flagg lays out the ground rules for his new team of supervillains, he mentions that he'll be happy to detonate the bombs implanted in each member's neck if they try to escape, disobey orders, or generally vex or irritate him. Harley helpfully raises her hand and tells Flagg that she's known for being quite vexing in a matter of fact tone, forewarning him that she's not going to change who she is just because she's on a government task force now. Harley, don't ever change.
prevnextEl Diablo Lights It Up
One of the more obscure members of the team, El Diablo is a pyromancer, meaning that he can create fire at will. In order to get his teammate properly motivated, Deadshot begins to shout at El Diablo, even going as far as to tap Diablo's tattooed head with his gun. After a few seconds of shouting, Diablo gives his teammates a frightening display of his powers, generating a massive column of fire from his hands. Deadshot immediately backs down and assures Diablo that he was just trying to motivate him and quickly asks if there's "no hard feelings."
prevnextBatman!!!
Not only do we get a few more glimpses of Jared Leto's Joker in the movie, we also get a couple new shots of Batman in action. It's still unclear if Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader will play a substantial role in the movie, but we see him carrying Harley Quinn away from some wreckage and diving into a river, presumably to save some poor soul. We also see Batman riding on top of the Joker's sport car, which was shown in past teasers. Considering that Batman was one of the highlights of Batman V Superman, here's hoping we'll see plenty more of the Dark Knight in Suicide Squad.
prevnextA Quick Stop at the Bar
The closing scene of the trailer shows the Suicide Squad stopping at an abandoned bar for a quick drink before battle. As Harley takes drink orders, Killer Croc orders a beer and Katana orders a shot of whiskey. The team's resident hothead, El Diablo, sticks with water, which (after we see El Diablo in action one more time) Harley agrees is a good idea. It looks like Harley also makes herself a colorful fruity drink, which is absolutely in line with her personality.
