Japanese Trailer for Pokemon Sun and Moon Might Make You Cry

Yesterday, the Pokemon Company released a video showing off the starters for Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, the new Pokemon games out later this year. While the American video was a relatively straightforward information dump, showing off three new Pokemon and some basic gameplay video, the Japanese version was a whole lot deeper and much more sentimental.

The live action Japanese commercial showed a young boy struggling to fit in after moving to Hawaii with his family. It's only after discovering that the local kids also play Pokemon Sun and Moon that he overcomes his insecurities (and the language barrier) and begins making friends. It's a really cute commercial and shows off the universal bonds that many Pokemon fans feel towards the franchise and other fans.

Like other recent videos released by the Pokemon Company, the commercial has a few cute Easter eggs. Not only did the Japanese family move using the "Machoke Moving Company", the kid also drinks on some Miltank milk. There's also a hilarious sign in the video game store that warns that any unattended children will be "sold into slavery".
