The Straight-Edged Superstar might finally be stepping into the octagon for his UFC debut according to Mickey Gall.

Gall was selected as CM Punk's first UFC opponent earlier this year, and even did a short bit of pre-match hype following Gall's TKO win against Mike Jackson. Following the 45 second match, Punk stepped into the ring for a face-off, with Gall telling SherDog.com: "It feels amazing to be here in this moment. The whole time I've been having a lot of fun, even the media side of things. I've been getting a lot more love than hate with it being my debut in the UFC. I know I'm ready for CM Punk and it was really cool to get a chance to talk with him in the Octagon, but now I'm ready to get back to training."

Shortly after that tease, however, the star had to get back surgery to fix a herniated disc, something that seriously hampered his training and effectiveness. While no follow-up date has been officially set, Gall posted a video of him training to his Instagram account that might give us an idea of when the much-anticipated bout will finally happen.

He said: "Some more light sparring w @ljreboli. Gonna be more active on social media. Let me know what you guys wanna see. Love hearing from ya. Btw I hear I'm fighting Punk late summer. No official date yet I'll let u know when I know. @frederickchevrolet @fujisportsus"

If that is accurate, fans won't have to wait long to finally see CM Punk make his UFC debut. Hopefully, the surgery allows him to truly be 100%.
