Could the Thanoscopter be headed to the big screen?

...Well, no. Of course not. But still! James Gunn joking about it on Facebook is pretty cool, right?

Introduced in Spidey Super-Stories #39, the Thanoscopter was a one-person helicopter built for Thanos and bearing his name along the side. Given that Thanos has typically been depicted as a godlike being with a thirst for death on a cosmic scale, seeing him ride around in a yellow helicopter with his name on it was silly enough to fuel years of fan jokes and internet memes.

And this time around, it's Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, who invokes the name of the vehicle along with a photo of an Incredible Hulk toy where the hero is pictured...you guessed it...in a helicopter with his name on it.

You can check out the Facebook post below.

He's hardly the first professional to acknowledge the greatness and/or silliness of the Thanoscopter. When Thanos: The Infinity Relativity was announced back in late 2014, we asked the character's creator Jim Starlin, who wrote and draw the book, what he thought about the Thanoscopter.

"Our Mad Titan uses it extensively in Relativity but, I'm sad to report, it comes to a sad end near the climax of the story," Starlin joked in our interview. "Then Thanos has to go back to robbing banks to finance a new Thanoscopter."

Thanos will next be seen (barring any unexpected cameos) in the next Avengers: Infinity War movie. The Hulk is expected to pop up in Thor: Ragnarok.
