When the competition series American Ninja Warrior premieres its 8th season on Wednesday, fans watching the qualifying round from Los Angeles, California will get to see Wonder Woman take the course.

...Well, kind of.

Veteran Ninja Jessie Graf is back, and this time she's wearing a star-spangled ensemble that invokes the Amazing Amazon.

"No woman went farther than she did last season," the announcers say in the clip above, provided by People. She says she feels "even stronger this year."

Four of the six obstacles on the Los Angeles course will be new to American Ninja Warrior - Floating Steps, Tic Toc, Escalator and Ring Jump. Veteran Ninjas Kevin Bull, Jessie Graff and Grant McCartney return for another shot at completing the course.

Those that successfully complete the qualifying courses in each city will move onto the national finals round in Las Vegas and compete for a $1,000,000 prize. Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila return as hosts and Kristine Leahy co-hosts.

Superheroics are nothing new to the show; in 2014, Kacy Catanzaro, the most accomplished female contestant in the history of American Ninja Warrior and, shortly thereafter, a viral sensation online, said that she wanted to hit the gym with Arrows Stephen Amell (and later did). Amell himself was friends with her boyfriend and had repeatedly expressed interest in parlaying his "superhero workout" videos into a guest appearance on ANW.

Later, Amell suggested it wasn't impossible he could end up on the show.

During an appearance at a Nerd HQ panel during San Diego Comic-Con International, Amell was asked if he would ever actually do American Ninja Warrior if he had any free time in the future.

Amell replied, "Well, free time is the key term right there. America Ninja Warrior actually got in touch with my manager and was like, 'We want Stephen to do it." And I turned to him and I was like, 'Well, logistically, it could be a little bit of an issue.' And he goes, 'Ehh..not so much.'"

"But the difference between doing Ninja Warrior and winning Ninja Warrior requires a lot of training, so we'll see," added Amell. "But I wouldn't rule that out, I really think that the opportunity to do Ninja Warrior is definitely in play."
