Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows Pulls In $2 Million Opening Night

On Thursday night, Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows grossed $2 million at 3,000 locations, which is $2.5 million less than what its predecessor made in 2014. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is expected to gross $30 million to $35 million this weekend, a far cry from the $65.6 million opening Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hauled in.

Meanwhile, Emilia Clarke's Me Before You grossed $1.37 million last night and is expected to open in the $12 million to $14 million range. Universal's Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping, starring the Lonely Island, made $322 thousand last night and is expected to gross $4M this weekend.

Last weekend's box office champ, X-Men: Apocalypse, won Thursday with $3.58 million and should experience a 55%-60% decline this weekend, putting its total in the $26 million to $29 million range.

Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O'Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
