Dean Cain Says He Would Take Deadpool Over Batman V Superman Any Day

While he's best known for playing Clark Kent/Superman in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, actor Dean Cain hasn't been particularly charitable to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Dean Cain, who played Clark Kent on the 1990s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has now offered his take on the Superman's latest cinematic outing, as well as his son's. Cain says he enjoyed it on the whole, but that it may have been a bit too long; he admitted to dozing off during the film.

"The movie obviously was so well made; the effects were incredible. It was too long, though, and I admit, I dozed off a tiny bit, but maybe that's because I was tired after a lot of traveling," Cain said back in March. "Ben was great as Batman and Henry is a very good Superman. This incarnation is so dark compared to the lightness of the Superman I've grown to know and love, as seen in the two versions that I grew up with — Christopher Reeve and myself. That's the only difference to me. [This movie] inhabits a dark world and Superman is such an alien in that world. Wonder Woman is really easy on the eyes, and I love that they introduced the other guys, the Justice League, because those stories are very cool. I loved how they did that. But I don't see how you have a Justice League without Superman."

Being a former superhero, the seemingly never-ending parade of current comic book adaptations are bound to keep coming up, and Cain has had nothing but kind words for Deadpool in the past, so as you might expect, somebody asked him at ToyCon in the Philippines which one he liked better.

Cain said that he would "take Deadpool over Batman V Superman any day," then reportedly hedged his bets a little bit by once again praising the Batman V Superman cast.

Cain is a still a part of the Superman mythos, playing the adoptive father of Kara Danvers on Supergirl, which returns for its second season Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW in the fall.
